E-Book.

The first step for The Cocktail Balance into going digital.

For those who love to live in the digital world and prefer to have all the books on a tablet or mobile. Intuitive, interactive & specially edited for your needs. Digital version of my book The Cocktail Balance in English language is finally out.

WHAT IS NEW?

The contents stayed relatively the same. But what changed is the way of how you can read the book. Your interactions and experience with the book. Searching between chapters and topics has never been easier, and all of this is thanks to active hyperlinks, which will guide you through the whole book. We also improved the images and edited them again for digital purposes, so now you can enjoy the full quality even when you zoom the page. The book itself is open for your own notes, tips or highlighting the important parts of the text, so you can work with the book and change the recipes if you like to.

HYPERLINKS

Thanks to the hidden hyperlinks you can easily navigate through the whole book with a single touch on the selected item. With a single touch, you can speed up the process of searching and “jump” from one chapter to the other without time-consuming scrolling. Hyperlinks are on every page, so you can always return to the previous page easily & always get to the table of content, so there is no need to “turn the pages” in process of looking for a specific chapter. Hyperlinks are also hidden in the pictures, so it’s easier to find what the tools like a shaker, mixing glass, or carbonation rig looks like, and this also works on technologies or ingredients. The whole process is really intuitive & easy to learn. How these hyperlinks works are shown at the bottom of this blog in the pictures, so feel free to scroll through them.

PICTURES

Because we edited the pictures (yes, again, for the 3rd time) for digital usage, you can now experience more rich vibrant colors & true tones. The darker or overexposed surrounding is not a problem anymore, because your tablet has modifiable brightness. The whole book is also zoomable, so you can enjoy the details on garnish, or cocktails in full force. We also added between chapters a few pictures of the PRINTS we created alongside of the book photo shoot, so you can enjoy them in digital version (& also physical if you decide to buy them from the SHOP).

COMPATIBILITY

Right now, there are/will be 2 formats of the e-book.

PDF format, which we recommend, is available on our SHOP has much higher quality, richer colors, and works smoother. It has also a bigger file size, but nothing to worry about compared to different formats. This format can be opened on most devices & was tested for quite a long time.

EPUB format will be soon available on Apple Books. The format itself is the standardized format of e-books in the world, but it has a few cons like smaller image quality & slower responses on hyperlinks.

ECO [LOGICAL & NOMICAL]

Ecology is a topic of these years & will be more and more important in the future. That’s why if you are willing to save a few trees (because of the future reprint) this is the right choice for you. By buying the digital version of the book you are also saving the fuel necessary for the delivery & your carbon footprint stays at lower levels.

The economical aspect of the buying is that you are buying the book without any shipping costs & you can use the book right after the payment. The digital version of the book can’t be damaged & in case of any error or misinformation in the book, you are getting free updates in the future.

E-BOOK vs HARD COVER

It’s really hard to choose between the digital and printed version. I love printed copies of books, I love the smell, touch, and feeling of having a relaxing time when I get the book from the shelf. On the other hand, it’s really impractical to carry a book with you everywhere because of the weight, susceptibility to moisture, and/or any other damage when you are not in a friendly environment.

This is where the digital version of the book wins. You can carry it everywhere because most of the time we have our phones our tablets in our pockets & it’s really easier to carry 10 books in one device than to have it in your backpack. Most devices are nowadays waterproof so you don’t have to worry about water or moisture. The brightness of your surroundings won’t be a problem anymore and you don’t need to rely on any external source of light.

So what is the result and which version is better? It really depends on the user. For me the best solution is to have both versions, so you can enjoy the touch, smell, and feeling of the book but also have a digital version because you can constantly return to it, have it always in your pocket when necessary & can write your notes, tips, and edits right into the text (not in the MY NOTES section as it is in the printed version).

P.S.: You can order the special package of the printed & digital version of the book HERE.
