Reflections and plans, 2025

Whether or not you are into New Year resolutions, the turning of the calendar year provides an opportune time to reflect back on the past year and plan for the one ahead. Here at The Cocktail Balance, 2024 was a year of growth, finding our feet, and reaching goals. 

Highlights of 2024

Naomi came on board as content director of the Journal in February, in charge of getting relevant content out to the bartending world. Interviews, event coverage, advice and how-tos were just some of the topics covered. We also added the News section, for up-to-date news highlights from around the globe.

The Cocktail Balance SHOP started off the year by adding an essential library of books, and throughout the year added Töufood products, more carbonation gear, and of course more books. 

The biggest highlight of the year, however, was publishing The Cocktail Balance 2.0. The book had been on Stan’s mind for some time, as he desired to contribute in an even more extensive way to the bar community by sharing his accumulated knowledge. The team came together with photos, design, and editing a gorgeous book that we are all proud of. 

What’s in store for 2025

We’re starting off the year with a bang of a party for The Cocktail Balance 2.0 book. We’re incredibly honoured that all 12 bartending legends included in the book are taking the time to come from across the globe to officially launch it. Stay tuned for more info, coming soon!

A Slovak ebook edition of the book is also in the works. 

We’ve got two new members on board, Katarína Nékiová and Michal Dojčák. Katarína has been instrumental behind the scenes with both books, testing recipes and creating garnishes. She will become our carbonation expert and be in charge of the shop. 

Michal Dojčàk pushes the boundaries when creating cocktails, and he will be our Töufood expert. Not only is he creating a masterclass on enzymes, and he will be involved with creating video content with recipes and education.

As well, we are going to work on providing more courses, masterclasses, and diversify the way we offer education to be able to reach a greater number of bartenders in the way that best suits them, whether at-your-own-pace courses, live online seminars or in person workshops.
