Responsibility.
Professionalism is also reflected in how you respond to any given situation or environment in which you find yourself in. Personally, I always try to identify with a place or space that I find myself working and creating in. I focus on its strengths and its quirks, which I then highlight when going forward in my creative process. However, I do not neglect the weaker links and attributes. Instead, I work with them, and around them. No matter the situation, I accept it, try to understand it, and react accordingly without letting my professionalism slip.
I know my limits and I know my responsibilities. I know, that my decisions can affect other people's life. I stand by my choices and keep my promises because that makes me a professional. Not high-class words, not advanced techniques, nor exclusive cocktails. I don't fear my choices. I only know this: whatever works out becomes my reward, and whatever fails to work, becomes my lesson.
These rules are what makes you a professional:
Take responsibility for everything.
Everything you said. Everything you did. Everything you let people do.Keep your promises.
Show other people the power of your leadership.
Don't run away.
Don't be a coward. Don't blame your failures on others.
If your decision becomes success, stay humble.
If your decision becomes failure, take responsibility.
More about professionalism can be found in my book.
