Creating a cocktail can sometimes just be about connecting two ingredients with rich profiles. For example 8yo Whisky and Aged Hoppy Liqueur. Exquisite and really unforgettable taste.

Whisky&Beer

  • 40 ml GlenDronach 8yo

  • 20 ml Aged Hoppy Liqueur

  • Technique: Stir

Aged Hoppy Liqueur

  • 750 g Absolut 100 50%

  • 250 g white sugar

  • 5 g malic acid

  • 10g Chinook hops

  • 5 g Citra hops

  • 50 g oak chips - heavily charred

Preparation: All ingredients, excluding hops and oak chips, are combined and mixed until sugar becomes completely dissolved. After the sugar melts, place hops in a cheese cloth and drop to base to obtain the liqueur. Shake and allow to macerate for 15 minutes. Take out the hops, and continue with the following step to mature it. 


1. Aging in an oak barrel – pour the liquor prepared in the previous step into an oak barrel for 2-4 weeks depending on the required final taste - check it sporadically. Filter the resulting product through a cheesecloth. 


2. Ultrasonic aging
– place the liquor as well as the oak chips into a vacuum bag, and seal. Put satchel into an ultrasonic cleaner and let it infuse at 40 kHz , 45 ° C for 3 hours. Filter the final product through a cheesecloth.
